Devin and I went to the book store and I bought Breaking Dawn for the flight home. I could not wait and I started reading it. I thought I would just pace myself and just read some of it. It was not going to happen. I read the entire book. I really liked it! So once again we had to go to the book store again and get me another book for the flight home!

Today was our last day in Paris so we got up early! It was raining again and it was so cold. We went to go get something to eat! Hill and I had croissants and Devin had a ham and cheese crepe! It was all very good! Next we headed to the Eiffel Tower! I could not believe how big it was! It was so big! We got in line to go up! It took us about 45 minutes to get to the front of the line, we got in the elevator and headed to the second level. We got off and it was so beautiful! You could see so much from the second level and it was absolutely amazing. After we took pictures we went and got in line to go to the very top! When we were going up in the elevator it was almost scary. It felt like we were going up for like 10 minutes! It was so high!! LOL. I was glad that there was high railing and an inclosed room at the top! It was such an amazing experience to share with Hillary and Devin, just the perfect amount to share in taking pictures! When we got down we decided to go see the Arc de Triomphe. This too was such an amazing monument. It was so much bigger than what I thought it would be! For the rest of the day we walked on the high street, got some dinner at this great little place outside the train station. Then we headed to the train station for the trip home! The train station was an entire story in itself. It was such a great trip! I had an amazing time!

Today we got up at 5 this morning! We are going to Paris! We stopped by McDonlad's on the way to the train! We boarded the train and set off for a short two hour train ride to Paris, France! We got to Paris and had to get tickets for the underground and figure out the transportation system! We decided to head to the Louvre! This building was HUGE! I never thought that it would be this big. We waiting in line for about 40 minutes to get in the building for security checks, then we waited in line for about 30 more minutes just to get our tickets to go in the museum. The Louvre was so big that we had to choose what things we wanted to see, we could have spent a week in there and still not have seen anything! We decided to head to the Mona Lisa per Hillary's request! We looked at all types of stuff on the way towards the Mona Lisa! When we finished at the Louvre we headed to the Notre Dame Cathedral, it was beautiful! It had a huge Christmas tree up in the front. We waited in line and walked through the cathedral, it was beautiful inside! Finally we went to eat dinner and then went to view the Eiffel Tower at night! It was cold and rainy. Off to bed for our next day of adventures!

Thanksgiving in London
Thanksgiving did not feel like Thanksgiving while in London. It is not a holiday that is celebrated in the UK. So Hill and I went sigh seeing and Devin went to dinner with his class after he finished his finals! He brought us a piece of pumpkin pie to make it feel like home! Hill and I ate fresh pasta and chocolate cheesecake that was amazing!! We had a good night after all that we did all day and were ready for bed!

Today we got up early and did not even wake Devin up! We got up and headed to Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, and Westminster Abbey. Hill loved all the huge buildings.. and I played photographer and took Hill's pictures in front of all the places! Next we went to the Florence Nightingale museum, and it was closed for redevelopment! I had waited until Hill got here to go and now it was closed. After we walked around the Thames River we decided to go do the London Eye. The eye has a height of 443 ft is the largest Ferris wheel in Europe! Devin was going to meet up with us but due to his finals he was not able to make it! So Hill and I got in line and before we got on the ferris wheel we had a free 3D movie to watch! It was very cool. The wheel was so high and could see so much of London, the views were amazing! When we got off the wheel we walked down the Thames and saw some of the street performers and went to a Christmas market! We walked to the Tate modern museum and went inside to warm up and look around. Next we went to Shakespeare's globe, London Bridge, Millennium Bride, St. Paul's Cathedral, and the Tower Bridge. Next we went to the tube station to head to Abbey Road! There were not many people taking pictures so we did not have a chance to take a pic together but I got a good one of Hill crossing the crosswalk! After Abbey Road we headed to Oxford Street to see the Christmas Lights! We had such a great day! We saw so much in one day!! By the time we got home our feel were so tired!!

I had tears in my eyes every time someone walked in the room and it was not her! Finally she was here. We took her luggage home and had something to eat and were out the door! We went shopping on Regents Street and Oxford Street! Then I took her to Harrods! She loved it! Then we went to the Harrods Fool Hall and she got some goodies! We had a great time and then headed home to rest for our next two busy days! As soon as Hill laid down on the bed.. she was asleep!!

So today I woke up when Devin left for his final. I stayed up late the night before reading Twilight and could not put it down. I started reading and finished the book before Devin got home from his final. I officially feel like all the other people that were going crazy over all the books!! So in less than 24 hours I finished the first book. I took the rest of the day off. I will start New Moon in a day or two!

So today I went to a great bookstore! When I was looking around I saw the Twilight series. I decided that since I no longer have a massive about of nursing books to read I would give it a go! I bought the first three books in the series and got a cup of hot tea and started my reading!! I know that Jessica will be so proud of me so I hope you are reading this!

So today I set my alarm for 4:30am to get up and go stand in line for the new Jimmy Choo line launched this weekend! I woke up to the alarm and it was raining and I had a headache so I decided to go back to bed. I met up with a friend to do some shopping. I kept seeing all these people walking around with Jimmy Choo bags, so we decided to stop in an see if there was anything left! I had looked on the internet and eyed a few things that I would love to have and just knew that at noon there would nothing left. I walked in the store and there was tons of people, I saw a lady with the clutch that I wanted... we followed her around to see if she might put it down.. we reached the cashier and she bought the clutch, then the lady next to her put her bag down behind the counter... I asked the guy for it and he smiled and handed it to me. I was so excited! The line for the shoes was not allowing anymore people so we left the store! We went to some other stores and then stopped in a few hours later... what did we see people in line for shoes!! So we got in line... it took about forty-five minutes for us to get 10 minutes in the shoe area to choose what we wanted! I loved the high heels but knew that I would never wear them and that the cute little flats were perfect for me! I was so excited! Fun day for shopping!!

Tonight Devin and I celebrated our first Bonfire Night in London! We went to the Great Ball of Fire - Firework Display in Victoria Park. This Display has been named the best fireworks display in London. There was over 150,000 pounds (the UK currency not the weight) worth of fireworks shot off. It was so fun... they played music the entire time with song like... Fever, Great Balls of Fire, and Your Sex is on Fire!! We had such a great time.
This was the name of the organization that put on the fireworks in Victoria Park.

This was a treat that I bought... it was called a toffee apple... but it did not taste like toffee. I cut the apple out and threw the shell away!

This was the fireworks display and people kept crowding the fence pushing their way up front.. it was so strange considering the fireworks were in the sky.

This was a cool "transformer" type thing made out of pink recycle bins. It lit up and walked around the crowds, there was music and fog coming from it! It was very cool.

We got a drink after the long trip home fighting the crowds in the park and in the tube station!! The best root beer I have ever had.. can't wait for Hill to try it!

This is what bonfire day in London is all about for everyone who has no clue like me!! Here ya go mom!!
Why did Guy Fawkes want to kill King James 1st and the king’s leaders?
When Queen Elizabeth 1st took the throne of England she made some laws against the Roman Catholics. Guy Fawkes was one of a small group of Catholics who felt that the government was treating Roman Catholics unfairly. They hoped that King James 1st would change the laws, but he didn't.
Catholics had to practise their religion in secret. There were even fines for people who didn't attend the Protestant church on Sunday or on holy days. James lst passed more laws against the Catholics when he became king.
What happened - the Gungpowder Plot
A group of men led by Robert Catesby, plotted to kill King James and blow up the Houses of Parliament, the place where the laws that governed England were made.
Guy Fawkes was one the group of men
The plot was simple - the next time Parliament was opened by King James l, they would blow up everyone there with gunpowder. The men bought a house next door to the parliament building. The house had a cellar which went under the parliament building. They planned to put gunpowder under the house and blow up parliament and the king.
Guy Fawkes Discovered
Guy Fawkes was given the job to keep watch over the barrels of gunpowder and to light the fuse. On the morning of 5th November, soldiers discovered Guy hidden in the cellar and arrested him. The trail of gunpowder at his feet would never be lit.
Guy Fawkes was taken to the Tower of London
He was tortured and questioned about the other plotters. To start with he didn't tell the soldiers anything about the plot. But, eventually he started to tell the truth.
A Celebration
In celebration of his survival, King James ordered that the people of England should have a great bonfire on the night on 5th November.

This is a cool model of The Bath House!

Today we took at day trip with Devin's school. Our first stop was Stonehenge, due to already been there and the pouring rain we just made a quick appearance, next stop the Roman Baths.
The Roman Baths complex is a site of historical interest in the English city of Bath. The complex is a well-preserved Roman site for public bathing.
The Roman Baths themselves are below the modern street level. There are four main features: the Sacred Spring, the Roman Temple, the Roman Bath House and the Museum holding finds from Roman Bath. The buildings above street level date from the 19th century.
The water which bubbles up from the ground at Bath fell as rain on the nearby Mendip Hills. It percolates down through limestone aquifers to a depth of between 8,900 ft and 14,100 ft where geothermal energy raises the water temperature to between 147.2 °F and 204.8 °F. Under pressure, the heated water rises to the surface along fissures and faults in the limestone.
The main features:
Sacred Spring - look towards the corner and you can see the bubbling of the hot water!

The Spring Overflow is where the water flows from to get to The Great Bath

This is where the hot water flows from the spring overflow into the Great Bath

The Great Bath

This is another one of the baths. Not quite sure of the name of this one! I love the circle shape.

Every person on any TV show and every where I went I saw people wearing a red poppy flower on thier jacket or shirt so I did some research to figure out what it was for.
Remembrance Day – also known as Poppy Day, Armistice Day (the event it commemorates) or Veterans Day – is a day to commemorate the sacrifices of members of the armed forces and of civilians in times of war, specifically since the First World War. It is observed on 11 November to recall the end of World War I on that date in 1918.
In the United Kingdom, although two minutes of silence is observed on 11 November itself, the main observance is on the second Sunday of November, Remembrance Sunday. Typically, poppy wreaths are laid by representatives of the Crown, the armed forces, and local civic leaders, as well as by local organizations.

Today was my third day of photography class! It was a good day. I learned all types of things on my camera like over exposing, under exposing, focus lengths, selective metering, and flash!! We did some practice shots with half lighting and these are the pictures that I took in the studio!

The next thing that we practiced in the studio was silhouettes. This was really neat to me and can't wait to take some of my friends and family. So here are a couple of the pictures that I took while in the studio.

I learned so much from my class... and now I just need to practice and take some pictures!!!
