We got up at 0430 this morning!! So early.. we checked out of the hotel and headed to the train station. Devin is going to carry the big pack and I am going to carry my backpack! Perfect for me!

We arrive at the train station and I have no idea where we are going at this point. We find our seats in the first class train and take a nap. We change trains in Lyon, France... I am still not sure where we are going... I am thinking either Spain or Italy. We get on the train and since we do not know french it does not make it hard to hide where we are going for Devin.

Next stop Marsellie, France. We have a three hour layover and take advantage of McDonalds free internet. This is awesome while traveling, almost ever one we have passed by has free wi-fi. A cool side note on that is that I turned off our iphones for this trip due to the redicilous roaming charges for internet and texts... that would be too tempting. Come to fine out if you put your phone on airplane mode and turn off the e-mail thing... you can use your phone as a computer. It will not make calls or texts but you can still get on your applications and use the internet!!!

The view from this McDonalds makes it ok for us to sit there and eat a late breakfast!! This is one of the oldes ports in France. There is Notre-Dame de la Guarde on the hill right in front of the train station. This is one of the most famous Roman Catholic Basilicas! It is the highest poin in Maseille, France.

We then go and find our last train for the day! It is at thie point we can not understand while we took the time and the money to pay for first class tickets and to reserve our seats for our entire trip. I think they sell the same seats more than once and there always ends up being people standing in the walkway. There were a entire summer camp group of young kids sitting on the floor between the seats. We have been traveling and its hot and late.

We arrive to our first stop... Nice, France!! It is so beautiful. We leave the train station and walk to our hotel and change into our swimsuites and then head to the Mediterranean Sea for a evening swim! It is cool but not too bad. It is salty so we rinse off at the beach when we get done and then head to find something to eat.

We eat something and grab a bottle of wine and walk around!!
