Today was so fun! We got up early and went to Stonehenge!! We took a train for about two hours to Salisbury and then got on a tour bus from the train station to go see stonehenge! This was so beautiful! It was freezing outside and glad jessica had an extra hat in her bag for me. I think I took one hundred pictures while we were there. Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument located in the English county of Wiltshire. One of the most famous sites in the world, Stonehenge is composed of earthworks surrounding a circular setting of large standing stones and sits at the centre of the densest complex of Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments in England, including several hundred burial mounds.
When we were done with Stonehenge we stopped at Old Sarum. Old Sarum is the site of the earliest settlement of Salisbury, in England. Old Sarum was originally a hill fort strategically placed on the conjunction of two trade routes and the River Avon, Hampshire. The hill fort is broadly oval in shape. 400 m (1300 feet) in length and 360 m (1200 feet) in width, it consists of a bank and ditch with an entrance on the eastern side. However, by the 19th Century, the village was officially uninhabited and yet still had formal parliamentary representation, making it the most notorious of the rotten boroughs that existed before the Reform Act 1832. This was neat to see the grass was so green and the rocks were huge! In the gifts shop they had local wines so we bought a few and headed back to the bus.
We got on the train and headed back to London. We were leaving early in the morning and still needed to pack
